Internships

Pella's Internship Program:

Pella Corporation offers a world-class Internship program. Pella’s goal is to provide challenging work experiences, which build on classroom studies and facilitate opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. All interns are important and productive members of the Pella team with work responsibilities similar to entry-level professionals.

Pella established the unpaid internship program for the summer of 2009 and 2010. The company's intent is to reinstate the paid program in 2011.

Pella's Definitions:

An intern is a student who works part-time during an academic semester or summer. Opportunities exist in a variety of different functional areas.

The Process: Initial contact with Pella Corporation begins at the college/university career fair or on-campus interview. Career fair and interview dates are posted in the Campus Activities section of this website. Our campus activities are also posted well in advance in career centers and academic departments.

Candidates who are most likely to be successful in our internship program are invited to one of Pella Corporation’s locations for our on-site interview process.  We'll further explore your interests and abilities while we discuss our plans for you if you were to join the team.

A Comprehensive Program:

Pella offers numerous activities to internship participants. There are five components to our Internship Program, which include:

Professional Development

At Pella Corporation, Professional Development is a continuous process that develops interns by providing training, coaching, and various activities. Some activities include corporate orientation, manager/mentor relationships, feedback, and team participation.  As a result of these activities, interns will gain skills and behaviors that drive business results desired by both Pella Corporation and the intern.

Leadership Development

Pella Corporation invests both time and resources to help develop interns as future leaders both professionally and personally. Through Leadership Development, interns have an opportunity to learn more about themselves and their leadership skills.

Diversity

Teamwork is very important at Pella Corporation and is part of the corporate culture.  Diversity awareness and education is a way Pella Corporation can attempt and succeed in making certain that teams include ideas from many different points of view.  It is equally important to celebrate differences and realize that Pella Corporation can gain strength from such differences.  Employees are encouraged to attend activities, presentations and community events that will allow them to reach out from their comfort zones and experience all that life has to offer.

Community Relations

The relationship between Pella Corporation and the community is one of great strength. Interns get involved in the community with the Knoxville races, RAGBRAI, Klompen Classic Kids Run, Pella Food Shelf and other activities. Students are encouraged to visit the Chamber of Commerce to find out more about the community of Pella.

College Relations

Through the Intern Program, College Relations are maintained and enhanced.  Pella Corporation values the various colleges and universities from which the interns are completing their education.  Both during and after and intern’s time with Pella Corporation, they may be asked to participate in various on-campus activities, such as career fairs, peer presentations and science fair judging.
