Pella Corporation offers a world class Internship and Cooperative Education program. Pella Corporation’s goal is to provide challenging work experiences which build on classroom studies and facilitate opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. All interns/coops are important and productive members of the Pella team with work responsibilities similar to entry-level professionals.
Pella's Definitions
An intern is a student who works full-time for the summer months (minimum of ten weeks). A coop is a student who works full time during the summer plus one academic semester (spring or fall). Both intern and coop opportunities exist in a variety of different functional areas.
The Process
Initial contact with Pella Corporation begins at the college/university career fair or on-campus interview. Career fair and interview dates are posted in the Campus Activities section of this website. Our campus activities are also posted well in advance in career centers and academic departments.
Candidates who are most likely to be successful in our intern/coop program are invited to one of the Pella Corporation’s locations where the reporting manager leads the second round of interviews. We'll further explore your interests and abilities while we discuss our plans for you if you were to join the team.
Upon selection, each intern or coop is assigned a mentor in addition to their manager. During the first week of work, the intern or coop, reporting manager, and mentor agree on their expectations for the next months. A 30-day evaluation is conducted to ensure all parties are on track. At the end of the experience, the reporting manager, mentor, and the intern/coop evaluate their experience and results.
Academic Credit and Grant Award
Pella intern/coop participants often receive academic credit through their colleges and universities. Pella Corporation will reimburse students for up to four academic credits. Make sure you work with your campus career center, coop office, or academic advisor to maintain academic standing. Top performing interns will be eligible to compete for the Pella Corporation Grant Award. The Grant Award is a $5,000 bonus to be applied toward the student’s academic expenses at their college or university. Historically, 15% of all interns and coops have won this prestigious award.
