Angled window
Specific style fixed window in special shapes such as a triangle, rectangle or octagon.
Astragal
The post-type fitting on the latch-side edge of one of a set of paired or double doors, which covers the margin between doors when they are closed, and which houses or contains the weatherstrip.
Awning window
Window that hinges at the top and opens outward from the bottom like an awning. Typically wider than tall.
AZEK® Trim
Low-maintenance, and durable window surround trim made from a cellular PVC material that’s impervious to insects and moisture.
Bay window
Combination of three windows, one large center unit flanked by two narrower units that project from the exterior wall.
Bead stop
The wood strip that a swinging sash closes against, as in a casement window. Also a finishing trim at the sides and top of the frame to hold the sash.
Between-the-glass window fashions

Bottom rail
Bottom horizontal part of a window sash.
Bottom-up shades or blinds
Standard operating shade or blind that can be raised from the bottom to any position.
Bow window
Combination of four or more windows in a radial formation that projects from the exterior wall.
Brickmould
Exterior trim (or casing) around a window or door that covers the gap between the window or door frame and the masonry opening. In some cases, siding is installed up to the edge of the brickmould.
Caming
The metal channels that separate and secure individual pieces of decorative glass together to create the overall decorative glass design. Caming comes in a variety of decorative finishes such as Brass, Nickel, and Black Patina.
Casement window
Window that features a hinged sash that swings outward to the left or right. Typically taller than wide.
Check rail
Top rail of the upper sash and the bottom rail of the lower sash on a double- or single-hung window where the lock is mounted and meets when closing. Also known as meeting rail and lock rail.

Clavos
Decorative pieces of metal that resemble the large tacks used to join wooden door planks together.

Patio door with narrow door panels and more visible glass area for a modern look.
Cottage double-hung window
Double-hung window where the upper sash is shorter than the lower sash.
Curved window
Window with one or more curved frame members, often used over another window or door opening. Also known as round top, circlehead or half-round.
Custom window
A window built to suit a specific need, size or shape (not part of the standard offering).
